What to expect
By „connecting international people“ my Frankfurt language exchange enables locals and foreigners to get to know nice people, discover new cultures and practise their language skills.
We always have a good mix of German and foreign mother tongue speakers to ensure everybody can apply and improve their respective foreign language skills.
Our meetings take place in exclusively reserved sections of popular and centrally located bars, cafés or restaurants where you can enjoy drinks and food in a relaxed atmosphere. By only playing soft background music, we guarantee the best possible acoustical environment for your conversations.
Upon your arrival our organisers will greet you at the entrance and will prepare your personal name tag (1 €) which includes your first name, country of origin and flag stickers (50 Cent each) of the languages you speak or want to learn.
Our organisers then guide you to the table representing your target language and introduce you to the participants already sitting there. Country flags and displays on every table indicate the language pair spoken, e.g. German-English, German-Spanish etc. Of course, you can also talk to people individually across the room. The languages on their name tags will help you to find the right conversation partner for you.
Important advice
We expect every participant to consume at least two drinks during the evening. Only this way we can host our events within exclusively reserved areas at popular locations. Apart from that German law requires you to at least order one drink and our locations reserve the right to enforce this legal requirement. Most of our locations offer food, so you can drop in right from work or university. If you want to support us as a photographer, you will receive two drinks for free.
As we have limited space available and many people usually attend our meetings, please RSVP for every appointment on Facebook, Meetup or via Email. Otherwise we cannot assure you a seat.
Feel free to bring as many friends as you like. But notice that they must be registered for the event as well.
Since there is no fixed agenda, you can join the meeting whenever you want. Nevertheless, we strongly recommend you to arrive early, so you can grab a seat at your favourite language table.
Is it difficult for you to get in touch with new people? Please let us know! We will do our best to make the experience at our event totally comfortable for you.
For more information, contact us via Facebook, Meetup, mail or use the form on our website.
We are ready – the only thing missing is you!
